Upgraded MH Lights 10K to 14K

Haven't posted pictures of my tank in awhile, and I'm not ready to yet, since I'm still toying with the idea of actually continuing to sequence them by date; which means about 8 months of catching up
. I did just upgrade my single 250W 10K MH light to a 14K Phoenix bulb, which everyone raves about and wanted to post some updates/comparison shots. DISCLAMER: I've been dealing with a major sump crash and resulting aiptasia outbreak since the end of July. Yes, I know they are there - they are getting better. That said, here we go. Started with a few semi-full and full tanks shots prior to a major clean/light change.

Then a few close-ups of some of the corals (still under 10K lighting).
My plating monti pack

Idaho Grape Monti (from GatorWPB)

My "Green" Toadstool Leather

My Purple Mushroom corals and Purple Ribbon Gorgonian

My Green Open Brain

My red mushroom corals, red-green bullseye mushrooms and purple bullseye mushroom

My colt coral

and my GSP

Obviously going to have to work on photos under the 14K light; most of the corals were still closed up last night, but I did snap a few pics. Most of them however where out of focus - major light difference. Here a few that sorta turned out.
Monti Pack

"Green" Toadstool Leather - Wow what a difference!

And the Ricordia Rock

And one more I just have to stick in (actually take a few days ago under PC actinics)

Don't everybody jump in and comment at once now - ya hear
.

Hey Tim. It is the de, I liked it the first night - didn't really notice a big difference in the light coloration per say, but you can see the obvious difference in the coloration on the corals. Unfortunately, I've got things every evening this week and leave before the tank lights comes on in the morning, so I really won't get the full effect until this weekend. I'll let you know how things look.

I like to 10k for the brightness but the blue actinic to make corals pop is awsome. The 14k looks better to me.

Have to look for sure tonight when I get home, but I think around $79.00 for the 250W. Let you know for sure later this evening.
