Upgrading tank size, re-use live sand?

Hey,
I have had a 10g set up for about a year now. I only have 1 clown and 1 bullet goby in it with about 5 hermit crabs. There is 10lbs of live sand for substrate. I will be changing over to a 20g very soon. Can I re-use the live sand I already have and just add new live sand? or do I have to get all new live sand?
Thanks in advance.

yes you can use your current sand. Buy dry sand, put it on the bottom and add the layer of live sand to the top. This is what I did when I upgraded and got no cycle.

I bought more live sand and added it to my used live sand when I switched from a 75g to a 90g...no problems and no cycles either.

there aren't any problems with adding more ls from the bag, it is just cheaper to add dry sand and the dry sand will turn live in time.
