I have a 46 bowfront with 80lbs of Live Sand and 30-50lbs of Live Rock; severeral corals, and about 6 fish.
Im gonna upgrade to a 72 gal bowfront next week. My question is:
What do i exactly need to do when i upgrde to the 72 gal; what do i exactly need to take into account in this upgrade??
PLEASE ADVISE!! <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

Here's an idea that someone posted in a different topic. Great idea. Scoop out san and place in dry tank. Place plastic garbage bag over sand fill 1/2 to 3/4. remove plastic. add rock. top off tank. the idea is that the plastic will keep the sand undesturbed while filling. I'm told this works great!!!

is this a acrylic or galss tank. if its glass that would be perfect. however acrylic you want to let the tank set for a few hours to get to room temperature. then you only want to add a little at a time. over the course of 2days. keep this in mind even when the other guy moves into his 180. your LFS wont tell you this. its important to treat acrylic like acrylic not glass. best of luck to the both of you

never say never. i like both. i have kids. i prefer acrylic. hae you ever seen a glass tank get hit with a hard object and break. its like a little bomb was in side it. plus glass scatches also. however with acrylic you have the option to get the more durable stuff of the softer stuff :)
either way you can buff it out. there for you can keep it for 15 years and never know the difference. if made well. plus its littler and easier to move. hey i have both. my glass is beat up. i cant remember what did it. it may have been a puffer or something. but its there is no turning back. once you have a scratch i glass is there for life. that may make resale a littler harder for you. just keep your options open. dont be so quick to say what you will never do and you have never had one.
if i am wrong...........i am sorryb
