upgrading to a 100 gallon.

i want to put new sand in frist under the sand from my cycled tank to have a deeper sand bed. 30lbs of new sand and then put the sand from my 65 gallon on top. do will there be any issues? the smaller tank has been up over 2 years. fowlr

How deep is the sand in your 65? I always caution folks to be very careful when disturbing an established sandbed, as this often releases compounds best left out of the water column.

Personally, altho I reuse substrate quite often, I always rinse it. If you want to maintain the fauna in the sand, I recommend that you rinse it in SW to remove any detritus that has built up over time.
