Upgrage biocube 29 to support sebae anemone.

Anyone have a low price option ( $50 to $100) to upgrade a biocube to support a sebae anemone. I have been searching online and i feel dumber than when i started. It looks like there is room under the hood to add additional led lighting. I have seen a few bank breaking options that look really cool and give enough light to grow anything. Im just looking for a little boost. Or I could try and buy a used mh lid but it doesn't seem like those would come available too often. Maybe I could buy one of the small led strips and stick it in there.

The strips are usually meant for accent lighting and won't have the strength that the anemone needs.
This is the best option out there right now: http://www.rapidled.com/biocube-29/
You're not really going to be able to find anything cheaper that will provide the correct output unless you find something used.

If you don't like the retrofit option you could probably make the 30w LED light from CADLight work but you are still you going to spend $300. Or maybe someone on Craigslist has a bio cube with better lighting for sale at a cheaper price.

You could also look into a PAR38 bulb and fixture.
Unfortunately the cheaper options usually don't produce the light needed

He'd be better served with the first option mentioned the Rapid kit.....The PAR38 bulbs just lack overall color for what he'd be after IMHO......

I totally agree. Just wanted to give another option since it didn't seem he as to thrilled with the retrofit kit when I suggested it

My husband is putting one in a 14G BioCube tomorrow night. I'll take some pics and let you know how easy it is. He did one on an 8G BioCube and it only took about 2 hours start to finish.
