Urchin Info

I was talking to my LFS today about hermits (red and blue legs)and snails. He mentioned that he would actually go with Urchins as they outperform hermits and snails regarding algea control. Do yall agree. Any downsides? This site seemed to think they could be distructive. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had a longed spined urchin, but I took him back about 2 months after purchace. I had a week coral banded shrimp, ant the urchin ate him. I did not notice him eating any algae(accept for my coralline). My snowflake eel ate all but one leg off of my sallylightfoot, then my urchin split the crab in two and ate out his insides.
I don't know about anyone else, But I have had all bad experiences with an urchin.

i had some beautiful macroalgae and mine just kept eating the good algae and not the bad.....

Thanks everyone, I think I will stay away from them. Sounds like Turbo's and hermits are the way to go.
