Urchin picking up buddies?

So I have a new pincushin (sp), that has apparently got a hobby for picking up shells Oo. He keeps about three or four attatched to himself at all times.....So far he has picked up some hermits and a few snails. Doesn't seem to hurt them just takes them with him around the tank lol.
Was just wondering if that was normal or if....yet again!....I got a new critter that is the weirdness.

Very normal for urchins. When you snorkle around FL you'll sometimes see a mass of seashells moving in the water.... it's just an urchin with a collection.

Welcome to the site!
I didn’t think it was a cute/interestingly weird thing in the least. I had an urchin for one day before returning it..The nasty critter carried my coral frags around and it killed my Pipe Organ coral, they eat coralline algae too. Wherever they travel they leave a white to the bare rock clean. I have no use for them, and I bet you already figured out I don’t like them.

That is normal for them to pick up things. I always avoided them because it was suggested to me that they can knock your corals around and pick up your frags. I guess Flower found out the hard way.

....I admit it. I thought they were really cool at first too. Actually if you don't care about growing coraline or keeping coral, they would be a neat critter to watch carry around snails and stuff.

The decorator crab is another cool invert that picks up a lot of stuff if you like that sort of thing.
