Urchin Removal

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove an urchin without breaking his spines? He was about the size of a fifty cent piece when I got him, now he's the size of a volley ball and he's in a 29gal. tank.

Dont worry about the spines, they grow back if they fall off. If you can take the rock out and slowly work him back and forth until it breaks loose.

Had the same problem a long time ago, I used a plastic bowl with lid to get him into it being very careful of the spines and transported him back to the LFS in that because a plastic bag just won't do.
