i have a sea urchin that has made his home right under my overflow box where the algea grows ......two question i have 1. how long can they stay out of the water and 2. i need to clean my tank what is the best wey to move him out from where he is to put him in water when i clean the tank

[list type=decimal][*]I'm not sure how long they can stay out of water. I'm guessing not very long. If he moved himself there then surely he'll move himself back.
I never move mine when I clean the tank. I just wait for him to move on his own.

I don't suggest trying to move it. It is a hard call to say how long they can stay out of water...some species are basically "intertidal" and do stay out of water quite awhile - still damp - but not submerged. And sea urchins used in research are commonly shipped damp as well. I don't recommend leaving it high and dry long, but short periods may be OK. I must add that disclaimer.
