so ive had my long spined urchin for 3 yrs now. Never ate corals i added a new one and he ate it overnite. IS it ok to just put him in my sump or will he eat my mangroves and caulerpa?

thats unusual! you can put him in the sump i would just be concerned about him eating the caulerpa as it is an algae

Caulerpa is pretty cheap in relation to corals right? Get him in the sump and punish him! Then you can just take him back to your LFS right?

I am confused because I have not seen anything that would point to a long spined urchin Diadema sp.eating coral. Are you sure it was the urchin, or maybe it was eating some algae around the coral?

no i saw him i picked him off the coral he was eating
