I have a 30 set up with an emperor filter and bio-wheel. I have an old Fluval 303 canister filter in storage from an old fresh water setup. Should I add it to my tank for the additional filtration/ circulation? Secondly, are there any special cleaning procedures other than changing the sponges/ charcoal/ ceramics in the fluval? 1*

If its doing a good job filtering then thats all you need. If you don't have a Protien Skimmer you definately want to look into that. When I set up my 30 gal (still in the cycling stage) I went with the Fluval 305 over a HOT filter, it just seemed from what I read it does a better job. As for the filters it all really depends on your preference. I'd do a search on Fluval and you should get a good idea of set up. I went with 3 sections of Carbon Bags and 3 sections of Biomax Ceramic Rings and it seems to be doing a great job.
