Used Tank Question

My LFS has a used tank (almost one year old) The size is 265 gallons. It comes with a 55 gallon sump, one HOB filter, one HOB overflow, two heaters, a one bulb strip light, glass covers. He guarantees it not to leak. He also said there is a 10 year warranty on the tank. If I buy it I will probably drill the tank for the sump. Price $700. What do you ya'll think? I can just imagine what it will cost for live sand, live rock etc. My present tank is a 75 gallon reef, been up for about 18 months and doing fine. I just like the looks of the bigger tank. My wife's gonna have a fit....

If it is in good condition and if the LFS owner stands behind it.....and if your wife allows it and if you can afford the expense of establishing it then go for it. I know I would IF I could cover all the IFS.......

Very good price if its in decent shape. Sometimes its better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Yeah, NM could not have said it better. If you can afford maintaining and establishing a larger tank, I say go for it. Let me tell you though. Costs do go up when you get a bigger tank. You need to buy salt more frequently, and you need to buy a lot more live rock. When I moved from my 75 to a 210, I went from having 85 lbs. of live rock to about 270 lbs. of live rock. That was a bit of an expense.

Yeah you guys are right. But sometimes you have to live with your decisions right or wrong. And sometimes wrong (in your wifes eyes) is way wrong
I sure am coming close though. I think it would make an awsome reef...
