I was wondering if I could put some chaeto in my wet/dry filter without making seperate chambers. So basically i have a skimmer a return pump to tank and some chaeto in my wetdry without any seperate chambers. I was just wondering it this was ok or if i would have to make a seperate chamber for the chaeto.

I modified my big Living Color Wet-Dry to hold Chaeto in the center and rubble and sand (Aragonite)in the side without baffles.
The Chaeto is in the center with a plate added to force the flow to go threw the Chaeto and to the bottom. Flow then goes under a baffle plate going into the third chamber.
Outflow bulk-head is in the third chamber. It also holds an extra skimmer, heater, and is filled with Oyster shells rubble for additional surface area for critters and bacteria to grow on...... I have been running it for about 2 years now that way with decent results......
Lighing is a simple old PC of around 60 watts when new on the top with a timer.
It may not be the best design, but it works well for me as a modification of something I already had........ Warren
