UV Glass

Is the glass used for hqi's special or just 3/16 glass?

Ive heard the glass pane for double ended bulb enclosures blocks out UV because the bulb does not.

I know it blocks uv, but is it "special" uv glass? Or can I just get a regular piece of glass cut?

no it has to be marked uv not just tempered glass for hqi .single end lamps have the coating on the lamp hqi dont
