Yes...
You would need 18 watts or so.

try running the tank with out it first i put one in my tank when i first set it up, sold to me by LFS i redid my sump new sump new skimmer pumps etc iand decided not to install it at this time well let me tell u this my LR has gotten so much more corline on it and it is easily 2 times deeper in purple color as before and this is just after 2 weeks just my .02
