UV or NOT??...

I've been running my tank for quite awhile now, and I've been having more uprises with parasites and other organic unwants; I've have read many resources about getting a UV or not, but I have found some loves then, and some thinks their a total waste of time, so I just ordered one! I know it can kill some good bacterial, however, overall, I have got the impression that it does more good then not. Any thouhts,

I have been going to this one fish place for many years here in Virginia. It is a famiy own business, and I know the owners personally, and they use Kick-Ich as well, they say it works. So when my bangai and raccoon got ich, I tried it, the treatment is hard to see results, b/c the kich-ich kills the free floating ich. It some-what kills the ich on the fish but only to a degree, therefore, a cleaner wrasse should be in place to eat the parasite while treating kich-ich for the free floating parasites; Same thing happen to my tank, I was treating ich, and my fish also had popeye, therefore, I had to make a decision what to treat, I really didn't want to discontinue or interupt the ich treatment cycle, but I decided to, then, I treated the popeye with Maracyn Two, though it may color the water green, it's ok; after a day of Maracyn Ick got worst again, so I quickly put in all new activated carbon and turned on my skimmer to remove the maracyn, soonafter, I began to treat Ick again, so now I am buying a UV to control and terminate the ich along with the cleaner wrasse, and then treat popeye... Long story, but hope it helped...

it is nearly impossible to take any fish out right now b/c of the live rock. Of course, I will put all new fish in qt., but meanwhile, if i try to put a net in the tank the fish runs, I've tried getting at night, in the dark, when feeding, he just won't come up to the top far enough... ALthough, QT is the best way to go, it only will kill parasites on the fish, when the fish reaches the display tank, if for some reason like other fish picks at it, it can be under stress, and an outbreak an occur (so I've read atleast)
