UV Sterilizer for 125

I have had a bit if a green hair alge problem in my 6 month old 125 gl reef tank. Aside from adding more snails and blue leg crabs, I have been trying to reduce my potasium level. But I also just bought at Coralife UV (9 watt). It has a hang on bracket or it says can go anywhere in the system.....How and where do I put this thing? I would appericate any help I can get. Sorry to be off topic...but that UV filter isn't going to help an algae problem. Its really not going to help much of anything unfortunatly (but that is just my opinion).
It needs to be connected to a pump. I'd get my money back instead
