UV Sterilizer - Lifeguard or Oceanclear?

Looking for opinions either of these units. I lean towards the Lifeguard because I will be buying a Chem/Heater/Mechincal/Liquid Bed modules and would hook it all up.
The Ocean Clear seems to get some good reviews.
Lemme know what you guys think.
Thanks

Dunno, but I run a Custom Sea Life double helix 36 watt on my 180 and it seems to do the trick. The walls are some special polymer so they don't need to be cleaned as often I guess. If you plan on doing the all lifeguard thing though, I would probably just do the lifeguard since that is a nice look with all the connected modules.

lots of money to tie up going with a full lifeguard system, unless you are going for the look of the thing. if you wanted to design a system that incorporated all of those elements, but by using different brands of equipment, you will be able to come out ahead as far as effeciency and expense go.
that said, a friend has the lifeguard uv module and he likes it. i do not remember off hand if it has an internal tube cleaner feature, but i would definately look into a unit that has one... it is a lot faster to keep the uv bulbs clean and operating at maximum output if you have one.
