uv sterilizer

got my coralife turbo twist uv sterilizer yesterday. I was wondering how many hours I should run it everyday. I have heard not to run it all the time this is why i ask?
any help would be appreciated. I have it running at a low flowrate to help kill parasites in my tank and to prevent their return.

Run it 24/7. The only time I dont personally run them is if I am feeding the tank plankton, in which I feed dt's and turn off the sterilizer and filtration pump for several hours (leave closed loop on) and then I run the pumps for a day or two and turn the UV back on. I only feed the tank like that maybe once a month though. The other time you would not want to run it is if you are medicating the tank for some reason.

are you happy with your uv sterilizer. is it a hang on or in the sump. iwas looking at getting this model for my 125, it would have to be a hang on.

it can be hang on with the bracket included. I had mine on the back of my tank but now i have it under in my stand out of site
