can any please answer me why and what and do i need one???
on my 75 gallon aquarium, i have softy corals, lr, sand, few fish, shrimps, hermits,, any easy answers??

They're not needed, but they're a nice thing to have. They can kill free floating algae spores, and can help with preventing disease from spreading.

Yep
They are not neccessary and will kill the good with the bad. Do you have a reef? I would not stress buying one. They are an excellent addition to a FO tank, but not needed. As for disease prevention, they do not kill all parasites. A qt tank is cheaper and much more effective.

complete waste of money....if you do end up wasting your money on one run it one week on and one week off.
