uv sterilizer

I have a 55 gallon reef with numerous soft corals and a few hard. I recently noticed that a few of my fish are starting to develop ick. How can I get rid of the ick without harming corals. Quarantine is pretty much out of the question because of so much rock cant catch the fish. Would a uv sterilizer work to kill the ick or will it hurt the corals and filter feeders.

it will affedt the filter feeders, so you will need to suppliment
as for getting rid of ich, which is on the fish, there is NO way to do so taht will not affect your corals and rock and maybe more
You need either medication or hyposalinity(preffered) and both would require a Q tank in order to not kill your current and future inverts.
sorry, but HTH

I like to take the natural approach to ich. To battle ich, the fish need to boost their immune system. Garlic has proven to be great at this. There are supplements available, but the way I have used it is to chop fresh garlic finely, and mix it with thawed mysis shrimp. Refreeze the shrimp in the cube tray it came in, and drop one in next feeding time. This method has always worked great for me in the past. Good luck, and HTH!
