uv sterilizer

how important is the function of a uv sterilizer for a fish only or reef tank nad how much should i spend? i have a 29 gal. and 180 gal. setup. what model or type is recommended?

Aqua makes a good one. They are good for fish only tanks. You should probably not use one on a reef tank though. From what I have read they do more harm than good in a reef tank.

rhugh007, get something that fits your tank! I don't think that the turbo twist is going to do the job, you have a 180gal tank. Aguanetics makes some big ones. I would look for something that will work for 240gal.

on a reef, the cons outweigh the pros. they are good on aggresive tanks and fowlr's.
