I purchased a double helix uv sterilzer. Its designed to hang on the back of the tank and be
driven by a powerhead. Tried last night to make the powerhead work but failed miserably..
I would rather minimize the clutter and have it underneath....anybody
dealt with this situation....whats a good pump?
I don't have a sump....
I am filtering my 75 salt with a fluval 404 and an emperor 400, also a prizm skimmer.

You could just get two long pieces of hose and run the uv under the tank. You will have to prime (fill with water) both ends of the hose. The size pump depends on the rating of your uv and how high the pump has to push the water.
Make sure of a few things
though
1) You mount the uv upright or at least at an angle...If you dont, air gets caught in it. You can also just make sure that the in and out points are pointing up.
2) Make sure yo uput some sort of prefiltr on the intake.
3)Make sure your hoses and plumbing is VERY secure. If the leak or break you will have a soggy carpet.
