I was going to purchase a turbo twist today until I started reading posts on them. good vs bad. I am inclined not to purchase one now but I get so much algae on my glass. Is there something else to help this or is is a new tank thing? I do have snails, quite a few. It has been set up for about two or three months.

Thanks this young will go through various nutrient inbalances as they settle in, so this sort of thing is going to happen.
UV units won't do much to stop algae on the glass. They primarily stop free floating algae that causes the water to "green up."
Your best bet is to check your levels, paricularly nitrates and phosphates, and deal with those, as well as shorten your lighting cycle.

I am running my mh's from 9:30 to 5:30. Is that too long? When I upgraded my lights that is when the algae started now that I think about it.

I don't know anything about the phos reactors. I am running a canister filter right now. Are there are in tank ones that are good ones? I did buy some phos buster or something like that last month and ran it through the tank. Didn't seen to do any good though.
