I have a 55 gal. reef. tank with 70 lbs. of lr. There are 20 turbos, 20 blue legs, and 6 scarlet hermits. Also there are 3 feather dusters, rock anemone, bubble anemome, and a condy. (Plus several fish) I'm not concerned about the fish. With the turbotwist uv sterlizer and a seaclone 100 skimmer running all the time, I wondering if I am removing too many micro algae and organisms that are needed by the feather dusters, anemones, and hermit crabs? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hi,
You will more than likely get mixed reviews concerning UV's I used one about a year ago to help clean rid my algae problem which it did help do, but it also kills beneficial free floating bacteria and plankton that your fish corals, anemones ect.. needs or eats, I wouldn't be to worried about the hermits though, but yes having a UV can be a benefit but also will remove beneficial organisms in the process.
