v.h.o. bulb ?'s

I just started a second tank annd bought some power compact lighting but was wondering if I could get some use out of some old fluorescent strips for more lighting. I have 2 all-glass 24" double flurescent strips and was wondering if any one knows if I can put a v.h.o, very high output, bulb into the fixtures and have it work.

If your talking about the standard light strips that come with the basic tank setups the answer would be no....Not enough juice to push em

I agree that the vho lights wouldn't work. I have vho lights and bought a seperate ballast to power them.

bseth90 said it, but it wouldn't work because the ballast is only made to power a standard bulb. You could purchase new ballasts and new bulbs to make the fixture usable.
