Vacation

I'm leaving for a 4 day vacation. I do have someone who will come in and feed my fish but I was wondering about lights. Will it hurt them if the lights aren't turned on?
Also, I have quite a bit of living rock. When the electricity goes off, my filter quits working and has to be manually started again. Can I leave the filter off?
The tank is a 29 gal with 4 very small green chromis, a pajama cardinal and a lemonpeel angel. Also a peppermint shrimp and assorted crabs. They've all done quit well for the past 3 months. This will be the first time I"ve left them so I'm concerned.
Thank you.

I would be concerned about your top offs, I have to do them everyday to leep my salinity from getting to high. I would take my chances and leave the filter going, or do you regularly lose electricity? Lights off for 4 days shouldn't be a problem since you don't have corals.

Thank you Puffer. I had completely forgotten to put that into my instructions and I do that almost every day.
Thanks again.

Why wouldnt you have a timer and "set it and forget it"? Leave them on while away, who knows, the light might keep a crook away?

What type of filter do you have? I honestly wouldn't suggest shutting the filter down, and why not just throw the lights on a timer........keeps things consistent....
