valentini puffer question

i have a valentini puffer which is about 2 inches. i have been feeding it Hikari Cichlid Excel, omaga one freez dry shrimp and new life spectrum and ocean nutrition. Are this food good for the puffer . Do you guys know any other good food for this type of puffer any other suggestion are welcome I just want the best for my puffer.Oh and one more question how can i tell its ---.

feed it some shrimp with the shell on to help wear down its teeth.
i dont think there is a discernable difference between males and females. thats why not much is known about the breeding practices of the puffer and they havent widley been bred in captivity.
