I have a Valentini, and he has been a "model fish," with the exception of ambushing most of my hermit crabs and snails
He doesn't pick at any of my zoo's or mushrooms, but since I don't have corals, I can't provide an answer for that inquiry.
As far as him always looking puffed up, can you get a picture of him? He may be holding air... How do you feed him? Has he been out of the water at all (for example, during a transfer?)

They are puffers so i would not suggest putting them in with coral. As far as the bloating goes, is it in with any fish thatmay be a threat to it?

just put one in my tank for about an hour. It started eating snails bigger than it was. I netted it out and brought it back.

Mine ate my cleaner shrimp but does not pick at corals. Mine puffs up a couple of time a week because my citron goby irritates him even though he is 1/4 the size.
