Veggie Clips (other ideas)

I know keeping hands out of tank is the best....but how do you do it when you feed small chunks of nori, etc. to fish daily. My hand are in the tank at least twice a day it seems. My tangs eat it quick, but if I put large amount, they tear it and it floats away under the rock. I've tried attaching it above water level but they get excited and tear at it when it's on the surface and it pulls free from clips. Any ideas?

I usually feed small amounts, but that means my hands are into the water attaching the suction cup to the glass more than I want to.

if you have an inch or so at the top of your tank above the water line make it suck up there and then use a plastic coat hanger and push it down. When the food is all gone use the same coat hanger and hook the feeder inside one of its corners and pull it up. Suction cups slide around quite easily on glass if you make the back side of it wet before you attach it.

I dont use suction cups. I use a fairly heavy rock that I attach food to. This piece of rock, I attached a string to so I could put it in and out of the tank with ease and I dont even get a finger wet.

It's funny, I just started feeding Nori and WOW! After starring at it for 2 hours, they now go at it before my hands are away from the clip  My Hippo will only eat it when my Sailfin does. Anytime my sailfin shows interested in any type of food, my hippo follows right along! But that's ok...my hippo also thinks he's a clown and follows them into the corals sometimes just to get their attention. :D

quotes are used to reference on particular statement in a message. They are used on all of the many BBS/UBB that I am on. They help. use them freely. :p

BTW I use a clam shell, rubber bands and a bamboo back scrather for my "algae anchor". band the seaweed to the clam shell then pick it up by grabbed the crack in the clam shell with the bamboo back scratcher (lightly used of course) seems to work for my tank. :D

I know I just had to Say something to defend the guy. and mainly just to explain how to use the BBS. But I understand how annoying it gets.

Seems like the only way to feed is with your hands in water. I use Omega One Marine flakes exclusively. If I don't put my hand deep into the tank before releasing the food it floats into the overflow.

Nori is a seaweed. It is EXACTLY what you eat when you consume Sushi that is why it is. It looks like a green piece of paper.

Dear vkesu-- go to the drug store and buy a box of rubber surgical gloves. about 5 bucks.
Theres over 100 in the box, will last a long time.

I take a pair of scissors and cut mine into little strips, leaving one end uncut for the clip. When they grab it, there's not as much to float away :)
