Venturi not working

I bought a HOB refugium w/skimmer included. The power head comes with a venturi outlet so bubbles can come out, when I try it in the tank everything is fine, the little tube sucks air and lots of bubbles come from the PH, but when I connect the PH to the skimmer intake, it doesnt work, on the contrary, water goes into the venturi tube instead of sucking air. Does anyone know why or how do I fix this?

Please help.

The back presure from the skimmer is preventing the venturi drawing air. The air goes in the intake. You need to get a venturi adaptor for inlet OR drill a hole in housing for airline. I can take pic if you need it.

Yes, can you please post a pic? What kind of adaptor? If I drill a hole wouldn't water get in?
Sorry, I just don't have a clue.
