vermetid snail

How do I get rid of it? I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't attached to a rock with corals, but it spreads its 'net' and covers the surrounding inhabitants.
Can I just snap the thing off?

Probably safe. Vermatids though are something I have come to expect. A nuissance but not all that detrimental.

does anyone know if an iodine dip would kill these buggers off? I'm having a problem with them in my tank also -- they've decided to infest the skeleton of my torch, and it's getting so it's irritating the torch! I snap the tubes off, but the snail just retreats back to the end before hand and rebuilds the tube in a matter of days. I'd love to find a way to kill 'em off....

Probably your best bet is try to dig the whole tube out of the rock. You can try to poke it dead with a needle, but that will not necessarily kill the whole thing.

Iodine dip's don't kill them i'v tried.
Get a big syringe fill with boiling water try and cover the snail with the hole of the syringe and squirt away...

I would totally try this, but I'm sure that it would lead to a dead coral as they are touching...
Thanks for the replies though.

Sadly for me I had to do it once... I made a kalk type paste and injected it into it's tube. I hated to do it.
