Check out my comments on the thread about the lights.
I checked the tank again and all the readings are pretty good.
Amonia 0 nitrite 0 ph 8.0 How could the tank do that by the third morning?I need to know if it is going to go wacko.I am soooo confused.Ok group advise and help me keep my sanity(ok so I lost that already) LOL!
Thanks again for helping a newbie.

The ammonia will be slowly building up. Once you get a reading the filter will not be mature enough to handle the ammonia and it will keep on rising. This is when it will become harmfull to the fish.
It is not your fault you have got off to a bad start, but believe me you really have. The first step is to see if the shop will take the fish back or some of them at least. If you have to keep some then the clowns have the best chance of surviving.
Try this first. They were totally and utterly wrong to sell you these fish and tell you they will be ok.

Geez, I read the other posts and don't no what to say.
Will they hold the angel and hippo for you until you cycle?
Tell them "yeah, I spent $1700 here and I would feel more comfortable if you hold them instead of them dying and being replaced".
If not maybe someone here lives close to you and they can hold them.
Keep tabs on the ammonia. Don't worry about nitrites yet, they will come after the ammonia.
Your other post mentioned feeding. Yes feed them alittle. They need to eat, but, the excess food will raise the ammonia faster and higher.
I hope this helps, good luck.
Dan, keep us posted.
