Very interesting.

Huh that is really interesting but had a hard time agreeing with some of the methods used... Seems to work very well for small systems though and the corals look good so who knows maybe this could be the future.
Question though if you are doing 100% water changes would you not lose the beneficial organisms living in the water column that help in breaking down the nasties in our tanks?

Those are the bacteria that reside on the hard surfaces of our tanks, not in the water column.

Even more to the point a 100% water change changes everything in the tank plus the water change itself can be "messed up".

Yeah, one our hobby's biggest misconceptions is that the friendly bacteria live in the water column; they don't. Several folks have tried to instantly cycle a 2nd tank with water from another tank---won't work. There is probably more bacteria in a teaspoon of substrate, a bit of gunk growing and hiding on the back glass or a peanut-size piece of LR than in 100 gals of water.
BTW,Henry, just watching the Goggle Auto-thingy is worth the trip to the non-link!
