Very scared foxface

I have had a foxface for about a month now. When I first got him I figured it was normal for him to be scared at first as my other fish were. It's been about a month now though, and he seems to be alright until I walk up to or even pass the tank and he freaks out. I'm a little worried about it because last week he has white spots which I thought was ich on him, but they were gone in a day and haven't been back. I'm going to continue to watch him carefully for signs of ich, but is there anything I can do to help him not to be so scared? He eats fine, he has good color (when hes not freaked out) non of my other fish pick on him. Thank you.

What is the set up of the tank? What size tank is it, how much rock, and what is the stock list? What are your exact water readings? Does he eat well?

I have had one for a while now and it is still "skittish" when I approach the tank. It is healthy and eating well, just a scardy cat I guess!

Foxfaces are kinda timid at first. It took mine a good month to get used to people near the tank. Then he slowly got more comfortable. Now he's te bravest one in the tank. Like when I clean the tank I have to really work hard to get him to move or when I put an algae clip, he'll be right there eating from it even before I set it.
My advice is if he's eating and looks healthy, just give him time and make sure you have enough LR for him to hide and feel comfortable.

I think it's normal for some fish.
My dad has had his for like a year and his STILL freaks out.
It's a 75 gallon...

Mine is my favorite fish in the tank, more personality than my puffer but he is a FREAK!!! He will eat out of my hand and then freak out and dart around the tank like a shark is chasing him until he just hides for an hour or so and breaths hard... A real freak. I have had him for about a month. It takes time for them to get comfortable. They are very intelligent.

Not to use you as an example, but is the fox in the 20, 36, or 55? None of them are suitable and would be an example of why the fish would freak out. Many of the behaviors that people find "cute" are examples of the fish being uncomfortable in their environment.
