VHO bulbs

i was just wondering, does a VHO bulb have to go into a VHO fixture, cuz i have 0 experience withthem and just thought id ask, sry if sound stupid. anyway, does it need a VHO fixture or just a regular flourescent fixture?

You need to get a VHO ballast, for VHO bulbs,Never feel any Question is stupid if you dont know, there are many people here who will answer if they know themselves, or direct you to someone who does, Good Luck

are the ballasts expensive or not, and r they easy to install or hard?

A good VHO ballast is an ICE Cap 660. It goes for around $180 for the ballast, heatsink and wiring harness. Very simple to install. Wiring diagram is right on the ballast. You will also need endcaps.

i have seen 220 watt vho ballasts online for 49.99 and end caps for 7.00 pr
easy to install if you have any experience with wiring at all

my dad (i hope ) can do it, hes pretty good at wiring, and things, he installed a fader for all my aunts lites in her house last week, so he seems to be good at wiring

I knew nothing about wiring, still don't actually, and I installed the DIY Icecap 660 and wiring harness with no problem. I even rewried the thing twice when I added more bulbs. The instructions are clear and diagramed sufficiently. You should have no problem doing it yourself.
