vho lighting ?

is it possible to use vho lighting w/o the ice cap do you have to have a special fixture for it or can i use my florescent hood for it since the bulbs are made the same

To run the VHO lighitng you must use a special ballest to power them. When working with saltwater it is better to use the endcaps to prevent any saltcreep from getting at them.
I would not reccomend trying to use the standard fixture unless you could protect the ends of the bulbs and rewire it with a VHO ballast, or was that your intent?

You dont have to get a ice cap they're prefered but I'm going to use a workhorse 7 and they 49.00 and can power 220 Watts of either VHO or PC.My workhorse 5 I have now says very cool never gets hot I rec. Them
