Do you use any stand offs or do you mount the endcaps directly to the canopy?

Hers mine. I have them mounted to 2x4's. The wires go into the 2x4 and into the endcaps. Makes it look real neat and not cluttered. They are about 3in off the water.

Hey Ross- ever think about going to Lows or Home Depot and getting some reflecive material to go behind those lights?

Internal reflectors yes, but that much light bouncing around the inside canopy? I like what the reflectors do with my URI's bouncing it all down.
No hard facts for ya kip, just one of those I'm going to do it because it looks great things.

Yes they have internal reflectors, and the whole inside of the canopy is painted white.

White will work well Ross, but I found much better look and growth from adding some aluminum roof flashing. It was 3 bucks for 40 feet. It polishes very easy and makes nice reflection into tank.
