VHO vs. T-5?

Between VHO and T-5 what's brighter for a 48" bulb? a VHO 110w or a 54w T-5? I'm assuming the VHO but i could be wrong.

T5 is a better bulb than a PC. They're not much more expensive and last longer. They run very cool too. Lots of advantages to using T5.

just wondering how is T5 High Output be brighter than Very High Output

the PAR value of the T-5's is higher from what I understand.

pluss t5's are smaller so your able to put more bulbs under your canopy

really i have 760w of VHO under reflectors but the census is that T5 are better, damn i thought i was gonna bank that income tax check!!!!!!!!!!!

No t-5's there are many colonies of SPS corals in there with amazing growth on them its a 125 with 8 x 39w (312w) T5 lighting, (50w) ZooMed 420nm lighting
its an amazing tank to look at in person!!

Michael whar is your opinion on leds?

honestly I dont see how a little light bulb will put out enough light to sustain anything but I also didnt think T-5's were as good as they are until I saw it first hand. so I kinda reserve judgment on them i do however think they are WAY over priced right now and will come down as time goes by.

good just started to get some corals frags from people around me. so not bad, gave up on the return pump problem. so just movin along. when you gettin yours back runnin

Yeap in fact I will be switching my 150 MH and PC atinics for a T-5 setup when I get the money!!
I have seen a couple of tanks that switched from MH to t-5's with amazing results!!
I will however keep the MH as a back up or for a frag setup in the future though.

if you look at the picture above its a 125 72inch tank.
he has the lights split half on wach side of the tank the long the t-5 the less benefit from what he and others have tested.
