VHO Wiring

I got most of my equipment used, including my lights.
I have a situation where if my hand is in the water and I bump the reflector for my lights, I get a "tingle" on my arm.
I know this is not good!
I have 2 large Hamilton ballasts running 4 72" VHO bulbs.
If anyone could post a wiring schematic so I can see where mine is wrong I would really appreciate it, Thanks.........
I did notice 2 purple wires screwed to the reflector, that's probably where something is wrong.

Is the earth ground hooked up?
Also, sometimes there is a provision to have the ballasts connected to the reflector.
If the bulbs come on then the ballast is wired correctly. Or so I would assume. It is just an issue of getting rid of the stray voltage.
Are your sockets insulated form the reflector? (they are probably plastic, in which case yes)
Make sure there is no bare wire touching the reflector.
Hope it helps. Calling hamilton wouldn't be a bad idea eather.

You still dealing with this Saveafish? I take it your idea about the grounding probe didn't pan out. That sucks.

you need a 3 prong power cord. The wires inside will be white / black / and green. The green is for grounding - link everything metal to the green wire of the cord. If your house is properly grounded this should solve your problem.

I e mailed Hamilton and got no reply.
I was using ground eliminators, with the ground tab wired to the center screw of the outlet.
I just found some timers with a 3 prong plug so that may help get a more solid ground.
I'll just wait till next time I'm in there to test it, I'm not gonna make contact on purpose!!
