i have the same one. though not from SWF.com a friend had it so i bought it off him. i have no problems with i except for the size. i run mine on super low since i only have a 30 g tank. As far as the UV ster. i have never even plugged it in. i've heard that the UV can nuke valuable bacteria and what not. personally i would not buy this skimmer new. (got mine for 45$) i am in the process of moving into a 75 wide so i look forward to seeeing theresults in that tank. although i think the skimmer is rated to 125 G. HTH

hey jeff.. thanks for the info.. its going to take me a while to get this thing started and finished. my buddy who has his own little store in his apartment is telling me to get a wet dry.. so maybe I'll get a in sump skimmer. I dont know though.. guess i'll get whatever i can get my hands on that is a good deal. thanks. matt
