Video Ipod Owners - Calling you out

I didn't want to hijack the other ipod thread so I started my own. I'm thinking up getting the 80 Gig video Ipod, but I'm having trouble justifying it for the video. What are some things you watch with the video that I may have not thought of that may help me decide. I love my Nano because I stick it in my leathers when I'm riding my sportbike and when in my pocket when I walk at night. I'm thinking the video ipod will be too heavy for this but if I buy it I have to give up the nano to the wife. That's the deal.

unless you travel or something like that, I would not spend the $$$. Unless you plan on watching it while riding your bike????

I love my nano and would not give it up. My cousin has one, but she travels a lot for work and spends lots of time in the airports or killing time waitng for her customers. IMO her video is a lot heavier/bulkier than my nano also.

I convert movies...right now I have the Stewie Griffin -the untold story, pirates of the Caribbean and corpse bride. You can get free pod casts. I get the happy tree friends, strong bad, and the Disneyland one that shows all the rides. Google also has TV shows that you can put on to your ipod. I would get the 30 gig it's thinner...well wait because they will be coming out with the new ipod soon. It will have a big screen.

from what ive seen the video ipod is alot heavier than the nano. alot of my friends have them and all ive seen them have on it was like tv shows and music videos. the picture quality is great on them but i think they are over rated. ill stick to my nano for the summer rides on the gixxer.

well yeah of course the nano is going to weigh less lol the normal Ipd isn't heavy...it's not like you can't handle it.

The video ipods are quite a bit heavier than the nano's but I would consider them "heavy" by any stretch. I have the 60gb Video. Right now I have only music on it, but I have about 15gb worth of music so far (3000 songs, I rip them at a very high bit rate) so the Nano's werent big enough for me. I ripped my whole CD collection onto it and am planning on swapping music with some friends that also have ipods which is the reason for the large size.

Not a whole lot of support for the video. I couldn't find any reason to justify it myself so I'll stick with the Nano. It has plenty of storage for what I need.
Thanks

I like mine because my movies and tv shows are so portable. I leave the a/v cable in my car and then I just hook my ipod into any tv and watch whatever I want. There's also lots of free software out there to convert all your videos. I use videora for general converting and cucusoft to rip straight from dvd to ipod format.

DONT GET A ZUNE! The one thing that makes them better than an iPod or other player is their wireless capabilities but Microsoft caved into the record companies and built in a little "feature" that after you transfer a song to your Zune via the wireless, you get the listen to it 3 times only and then you can no longer access it unless you buy it.

I got the 80gb last week. Its the same thickness as the 60gb. I love it, and of course its thicker than the 30gb, what do you expect? So far ive only gotten a portion of my music collection onto because i had to leave to New York, which is where i am now before i had time to really mess with it and put any videos on it. I will tell you how i like it once i do though, i get back home on Sunday.

i'm on my 3rd ipod 40gb in 2 years. (2 had hard drive crashes, and my "latest" one is on its way out as well.)
i wont buy another apple ipod again until they come out with at least a 40gb that uses a flash drive.
no more hard drive ipod's for me.
love the ipods, but i cant handle the cheap quality on them.

Is there a free program out there that rips DVD to IPod format out there? (I am getting the 80GB for Christmas).
