I must have some sort of virus in my hotmail account. I keep getting postmaster@mail.hotmail in my inbox and I get 100s of them. I ran my virus and spyware software and only admail stuff was found and deleted. Not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?

Just since I posted the question, I have 30 more of those failed delivery messages!

umm you're pretty much SOL. It seems to me someone has cloned your email. Which is pretty easy stuff to do and using it to send out spam. We used to have that problem with our work email for a while. But finally it is kind of went away, and then came the problems of being tagged as spam everytime we sent email...

I also have a hotmail account. You can right-click on the email and view message source if you are curious. Mine has a "help center" link at the bottom right, from there you may find some helpful hints.

You can always "Mark As" junk or phishing scam, that should keep it out of your inbox.

In any event, a web-based email account is less affected by your PC settings more affected by your settings on the hotmail server.

edit:stdreb27 posted while I was typing, he may have a point..

Well I don't like your answer! lol

Geesh, if I can't stop it then maybe I can contact hotmail and have them shut my account down and open a new one.

I'd have to look at the returned email. But if your subject are typical junk mail subjects. "Extend yourself" "free Nikes" or whatever. That is a dead give away. Abandoning the email address would help, but it won't stop the cloner from continuing to use your old email.
