I've been doing a lot of research on Vodka Dosing. There doesn't seem to be very much talk about it on here. Who doses Vodka?? What are your reactions??
My biggest question is dosing vodka increases your bacteria load, which cuts down on oxygen levels. How do you combat the O2 levels?? I have a bunch of fish in my tank and low O2 would not be a good thing.

Unless I missed it in that thread....I'm really concerned with the low O2. I know you need to have a good skimmer which I have, but I really don't want to lose any fish because of the low dissolved O2.

I have a bc29. Water enters the back chamber through a series of slots then falls over a false wall about an inch into some filter floss. So some gas exchange there.
I have an Aquatic Life mini skimmer, needle wheel, chopping up a good amount of air and injection it into the skimmers water column.
On the display side the return pump fromt the rear chambers has a LocLine nozzle pointed at the top of the water giving it a contant ripple and gas exchange there.
The top is open to the air, only covered with pond netting.
I have a Vortech MP10 on short pulse producing a back and forth wave that is breaking the surface of the water some, more gas exchange.

So then I should be ok?? I have a 180 DT draining into 2 overflows to my sump, where I have an ASM G3 skimmer and 2 return pipes. I also have 2 Vortech MP40 first generation powerheads.
