ive been reaserching lions a little for when i turn my 55 into an aggressive tank, i will have a lion in it, and a SFE, yestery when i was had my LFS they had this little black Volitan Lionfish for $89.99 , it was probly 1 1/5 inches at the most, he was saying i could keep it in my tank and the less i fed it the small it would stay, im assuming this isnt true?? aslo could i keep a Volitan Lion in my 55 for life???

IMO that alot to pay for a lion that size
ALSO a 55 would never house a volitan evana t that small and DEF not for life. you cant just feed him a "little bit" either you have to feed them, and beleive me they like to eat. i cant picture my volitan or evan my russels in a 125 let alone a 55 gallon thats how big they got and quickly
you could however try some of the dwarf species.. they are cool lions

i would find a new LFS if i were you not only are they pretty much lying to your just to make a sale but they are outragously priced.I will say that feeding it a little will surely make this species not outgrow your tank it will almost inevidably die long before it reaches double the size at purchase.i do reccomend going for a dwarf species but i would look elswhere to find it

Definitely go with a dwarf lion. My Mombasa Lion has not yet touched any snails/hermits/shrimp. Perhaps he just hasn't gotten around to it. Or he's just cool like that.

well first off no lion is gonne jet to ur hand just to waste precious venom. i would go w/ either a antennata or a zebra like u said. maybe l8r on u can keep a radiata or fu manchu but some1 correct me if im wrong u may have to give the zebra or antennata up.

Dwarf fuzzy, IMO. I've had three different Lions, and this is the only one I've had any success with (Fu Manchu and Radiata). Plenty of personality and will eat frozen foods.

I have a maroon clown in with mine, although I'd love to have a Valentini puffer if it weren't for my cleanup crew. I'm too scared the puffer would eat them all.

i know every one, well most, will disagree w/ me but 55g are only 13" and snowflakes grow to 2', they are twice as long as the depth, dont u think it will be a little cramped?

well .. maybe for a full grown snowflake moray but for the most part .. snowflake morays stay curled up in a rock and don't come out too much

I probably wouldn't put them in anything less than a 55 gallon .. but you could do it in a 55 gallon
