i went to the store and the only type of shark they had was Wild Thresher Shark from Ecuador is this safe to feed to my lion

You really need to get your lion on frozen foods, they will eat smaller chunks, if you need to wean the lion over, pick up a feeder stick from your LFS.
Try Frozen Krill thawed, frozen silversides or sand eels thawed, place the food on the feeder stick and wiggle it. Once you wean this lion over add more of a variety of foods into the lions diet, such as Octo, Squid, raw shrimp and so on.......... Pick Up Vitamin from your LFS (Zoe/Selcon) soak your lions foods in the vitamins before feeding.
