wall hammer coral question

i just bought one at my lfs and i was wondering if it goes in the rockwork or in my sand bed...the guy said i can put it anywhere but online says the sandbed...what do you guys think?
this is not a branching hammer. it is a wall one

I have mine right on top of a rock pile, right under a 175w halide. It's more flow you should be thinking about than location, you'll want a spot with gentle flow.

doesnt matter, just as long as its secure and wont fall.
hammers really dont like being face down in the sand
