Want a colorful non shy fish for my 55 gallon reef tank

I currently have a 55 gallon reef tank with 1 cardinal fish and 2 clowns. I really want another really colorful fish for my tank (especially yellow, blue, or purple). I want a fish that brings color, but also does not spend all day hiding. First I thought about getting a yellow tang. My LFS said it would do fine in a 55, but after reading the boards, I am not so sure now. Then I wanted coral beauty or some other dwarf angel. Again, after reading, I am not so sure I want to test whether the angel would pick at my corals.
So now I just do not know what else I can get that is as colorful and not shy like the tangs and angelfish. Anyone have some suggestions??

if u have coral I wouldnt buy an angel though they say coral beuties are ok. Yellow tangs are nice until they out grow your tank..same with the naso tang, they are awesome but will also eventually outgrow your tank. Maybe try a blue hippo tang or some anthias.

I just returned a Coral Beauty because it was picking on my clowns. Not sure about it picking at the coral.

Blue hippo and anthias are not recommended for a 55. Maybe try a royal gramma. Mine doesnt hide much. Maybe a goby or a blenny.

I have a coral beauty angel in a 37gal with my pair of false perc clowns and a royal gramma (also very colorful and active). My angel is a perfect "angel", mostly grazes all the time, and I've never seen her bother my corals or other fish.
First pic is my coral beauty angel (sister Mary Angelica, and the second is my royal gramma, Prince William)

If you want to add color and action to a tank that is to small for tangs get an anthias. :happyfish here is a pic of my squareback anthias.(in a 55 with the exact tankmates you have in your tank)
An anthias will do fine in a 55 although since you have to feed them often you should have good filtration and you can't skip water changes. :joy:
