What have you missed in 15 years, were you a sleep. 15 super bowls, 15 world series, 3 presidents and the world wide web (wrong invented in 1990) then self-contained artifical heart.

Is that sarcasm? For what purpose? These things are for help, not to put people down. I think if thats what you want to do, find another place to vent. Better yet, ask yourself what your so angry about. Not very nice and not at all helpful.

Not sarcasm hummor
. You told us you had a cow fish 15 years ago (that was nice) then you asked what you missed in the last 15 years.

Whether or not it's a good idea to get another one. As I said I had one about 15 years ago and it wasn't any problem. Obviously we know alot more now and I'm seeing all these warnings about having one. (toxin emitted with stress or death, eating some corals and I wanted it to have some reef as well) So. . . yes, if you have heard or had experiences with these critters I'd love to hear it. Thanks, and again, sorry I got (overly) sensitive. Wendy

My daughter wanted to get one years ago. So I did my home work they are solitude creatures that need to be in a stress free system with very timid tank mates. And yes you are correct on all the problems that can occur. They also are timid eaters and will starve if housed with aggressive eaters. The other thing is the will grow quite large 1'-8" recommended tank size is 250gal. Needless to say I never got one at the time I had a 30gal. tank.

Hi Wendy,
As Mr. Limpid sez, it's all about tank size in this case. Unfortunately, they do get large (I really like them), however, they generally show up in the trade on the small side, so unless you want a tiny fish in a huge tank, you'll need to have "upgrade" plans, or if you have the tanks already running, you'll just need to move the fish as it grows. I know lots of peeps say "upgrades never happen", but we've done it ourselves with our volitans (went thru 4 tanks), and now several of our other fish have "moved up" from their grow out tanks.
BTW, I tossed some monofilament and shrink tubing into the mail on Saturday, so look for it...just a regular envelope.
