want canopy and lights dont know what to do

i have a idea for a canopy but i need to know what kind of light for a 55 gallon and ehat products i should use for the lighting system and is there and stores like home depot to get the lights
i have no idea what i need for the lighting someone help me please and show me a diaghram if u have one

If your going to build your own canopy, shop lights first and then design your canopy accordingly. If your going to use a pre-built canopy, buy it or get the dimensions and then shop for lights to fit it.
Either way, you can read threads on this board, shop lighting sites and get opinions based on various experiences with light choices and their assoiated pro's and con's.
Personnally, I think VHO's are a great lighting source. Stay away from hardware store lighting.

agreed. you will be sorry if you use hd lights or try to get by cheaper. there are alot of sites you can find affordadle vho,pc or even halides but it all depends on what you want to keep ie fish only, reef, or both. vho's are nice and easy to design a canopy around and you probalby wouldnt have a heat issue.
